"Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation." I have found this to be true on so many levels in my own life. Often times outsiders looking in will only see achievements and not the pieces of ourselves we give up to have those achievements. Today I am thankful for all of you that spend hours toiling in the hard parts, in the unspectacular parts, pouring yourselves out in preparation for more. To the behind the scenes workers who are rarely seen or recognized. Here's to the hours in the kitchen, the hours with your babes, to the hours in the fields, to the hours in the office, to the hours on the phone, to the hours corresponding, to the hours building, planning, doing, praying, yearning. To all your unaccounted for hours that slip away so quickly. I'm thankful for you.
